The Westdale project came to us in 2023. The owners wanted to stay in the neighbourhood their kids had grown up in, and they wanted three bedrooms upstairs without losing the character that drew them to the house in the first place. We sourced reclaimed soldier-course brick from a Burlington demolition, matched the eave profile, and re-pitched the roof to read as if it had always been there. Five months on site, no week-long winter shutdown, and a final inspection without comment.
Original brick face retained on the front elevation. New soldier course matched at the second-storey threshold.
Primary suite framed for natural light through the southern gable. Stained ash flooring throughout.
Stair tower framed in the original cedar species, re-trimmed to match the salvaged ground-floor mouldings.
