What we do

Four practices, refined over twenty-five years.

Most projects are somewhere in the middle of two or three of these. We work in disciplines that overlap, the way good craftspeople always have.

01

Renovations

Whole-home renovations and considered remodels for the families who live in them.

We work alongside homeowners to reimagine the rooms they use every day. Kitchens, primary suites, basements, and full-floor reconfigurations. We handle scope, design coordination, permitting, and the long tail of finishing details that keep a renovation from feeling like a project after the crew leaves.

What is included
  • Architectural and design coordination
  • Permits handled in-house
  • Single-team execution from demo to final coat
  • Two-year workmanship warranty
02

Custom builds

Ground-up homes shaped around the way a household actually moves through them.

A custom build with us starts with months of conversation before a foundation is poured. We sit at the kitchen table and work through how rooms connect, how light moves through the year, and how a home accommodates teenagers, parents, and twenty years of life. Then we draw, source, and build.

What is included
  • Concept-through-completion delivery
  • Heritage-informed material selection
  • Energy-conscious envelope detailing
  • Direct relationships with our trades partners
03

Additions

Side, rear, and second-storey additions that read as part of the original home.

Most of our additions are second-storey or rear extensions on homes built between 1910 and 1965. Matching original brickwork, replicating period mouldings, and tying new framing into old without sagging or settling. We treat the existing house as the brief; the addition has to honour what is already there.

What is included
  • Period-matched exterior finishes
  • Structural integration with original framing
  • Minimised disruption to the household
  • Heritage Conservation District experience
04

Restoration

Sensitive restoration of heritage homes, historic millwork, and period detail.

We restore homes the way our grandfathers built them: with the right wood species, the correct profiles, and finish work done by hand. Plaster, original-spec mouldings, leaded glass, hardware sourcing, and timber-frame repair. Restoration is a craft we have spent twenty-five years refining.

What is included
  • Plaster and lath repair
  • Custom millwork to original profiles
  • Salvage and re-integration of original materials
  • Coordination with heritage conservation officers
A note on what we don’t do

We are not a general contractor for everything.

We do not bid municipal work, commercial fit-outs, or new subdivision tract building. We do not take on cosmetic paint-and-paper projects without structural or millwork scope. If your project is outside our practice, we will tell you in the first conversation and refer you to a colleague we trust.
