Dundas Valley kitchen renovation
Closed-off 1960s galley reworked into an open kitchen and butler's pantry that anchors the back of the house.

The original kitchen was a closed-off galley with a window over the sink that looked at a neighbour's garage. We took down the load-bearing wall between the kitchen and the dining room, ran a steel beam across the new opening, and rebuilt the room around the family's actual cooking patterns. The butler's pantry was the homeowner's quiet request and ended up being the room they spent the most time in.
Custom cabinetry built off-site by our millwork partner. Walnut interiors. Brass hardware sourced through Allied Hardware in Hamilton.
Butler's pantry detail. Open shelves in solid white oak. Countertop in honed Carrara.
View from the new opening into the dining room. The original 1960s plaster ceiling was retained and re-lathed where the wall came down.
