The Ancaster house had been pulled in three directions by previous owners. We worked with the Hamilton Heritage Conservation District officer for sixteen weeks. Plaster crown re-cast from original profiles. Pine plank floors lifted, numbered, refinished, and re-laid. Original hardware sourced from a salvage yard in Niagara. The owners wanted the parlour to feel the way it would have felt at the turn of the century, and to live in it.
Original pine planks salvaged, refinished, and reinstalled in the same order they came up.
Plaster crown re-cast in eight pieces. Hand-finished to match the 1887 originals.
Front parlour at completion. Wallpaper, period reproduction. Trim, original profile.
